Northgate School comprises a small day school that provides education for young people with mental health challenges who are struggling to engage in a mainstream setting.

We offer a safe, nurturing environment with the aim of supporting the young person to engage in education and manage their transition back to their mainstream school or post-16 provider. As students join and leave Northgate at various points in the academic year, we ensure that their curriculum is personalised to their individual needs.

At Northgate School we also provide education for young people who are inpatients at The Beacon Centre, a Tier 4 CAMHS unit. Young people at The Beacon Centre vary in the duration of their stay and as a result, we aim to provide continuity of their education. We work closely with the mainstream school or college to enable the young person to continue their studies and in addition, provide a range of additional subjects with the intention of reengaging in education. We work closely with the wider medical team to ensure that each young person has a personal timetable which meets both their educational and therapeutic needs.

Our values: Respect, Nurture, Compassion, Inclusion
